Jeep Wrangler Avalanche Ad

A Jeep races down a mountainside to escape from an avalanche in this fun spot for the 2013 Jeep Wrangler. Unfortunately for the Jeep, the avalanche buries it; but in an inspired although unlikely turn of events, the Jeep crashes forth from beneath the mounds of freshly tumbled snow, and the announcer says: “The 2013 Jeep Wrangler: Winter doesn’t stand a chance.” It’s a beautifully shot, really cool spot for a great classic American motor vehicle.

But you know, with global warming and climate change, perhaps winter isn’t so tough anymore; so maybe it’s not that the Jeep is so tough, so much as it’s that winter isn’t as tough as it used to be. Maybe Al Gore could charge Jeep with hypocrisy in this ad, claiming winter doesn’t stand a chance because of emissions from fossil fuel burning cars like Jeeps, and not because Jeeps are so great at driving in the snow; and Jeep could accuse him of hypocrisy for selling his network to Al Jazeera, a news network funded by oil money, making Al Gore an oil profiteer now just like any oil baron. But then Al Gore could blame Jeep directly for using oil and gas as the fuel source for their cars on purpose to create climate change so they can destroy the environment, and Jeep could accuse Gore of starting the avalanche on purpose to try to kill Jeep drivers, and they could just have a silly smackdown back and forth until is escalates into Gore leading a bunch of environmentalist protesters into throwing rocks at Jeeps until the Jeeps lose their patience and run them all over. (I hear that’s going to be the next Jeep ad!)

Here’s the attempted avalanche-avoidance adventure ad:
