There is a tradition in competitive figure skating where the
skaters’ fans throw stuffed animals out onto the ice after the skaters’
performances. They used to throw roses too, but lately I’ve been seeing stuffed
roses. And so I thought, how about having stuffed tomatoes and vegetables (and maybe
stuffed fruit too) to throw onto the ice for them when they’re terrible? (It’s
easy to find pin cushions that are stuffed tomatoes and vegetables and fruit.)
That way, people could throw tomatoes and vegetables, but without staining the
surface of the ice. Plus, stuffed vegetables would make lovely decorations,
kind of like wax fruit.
Think of all the jobs it could create on Etsy: a veritable cottage industry of fan expression!
