In light of his admissions of wrongdoing in his interview with Oprah Winfrey broadcast tonight, international athletics officials say they will rescind Armstrong's lifetime ban from competitive sports. Now the ban will only be for fifty years, after which Mr. Armstrong is welcome to enter any athletic competition he chooses with a clean slate. And so long as he isn't found to be using any kinds of banned substances, all victories will be unchallenged, regardless of past offenses.
So here's hoping we'll all get to see Lance Armstrong win the Tour de France for real, finally, as a clean athlete, in 2063.
