The AristoCat

Check out this story about a black cat that just inherited $13 Million from its owner, a little old lady (Also of note: black cats and the number 13 are both considered to be unlucky and associated with witchcraft! Perfect for a horror movie plot; and actually, there is one...):

There's a great Spanish-language horror movie from 1975 about an old lady who leaves her estate to her niece with the condition that everything really belongs to her cat, and the niece has to take care of the cat to get the inheritance. Then, the niece's friends move in, the cat dies under mysterious circumstances, and the niece's friends start being killed off one by one by a ghostly old lady. (And like this news story, the movie cat is also a male black cat.)

I'd like to think this old lady saw this movie (called "Blacker Than The Night"), and left all her money to her cat as an inside joke to others who know the film. And like in the movie, a young woman (her nurse) has been given the entire estate with the agreement that the money really belongs to the cat, and the young woman gets it if she takes good care of the cat. So if she has friends move in with her, and the cat dies... (Horror movie music stab!)

Here’s the IMDB link to Más Negro Que La Noche (written and directed by the master of Mexican horror cinema: Carlos Enrique Taboada):
