Chevy Silverado "The Things You Carry" Ad

In watching the Fiesta Bowl, I saw this Chevy Silverado commercial for the first time. In it, we see some big macho dude towing some bulldozer on a trailer with his Silverado, which also has a big load of thick wooden beams in the back. But even so, when the guy drives up to a rest stop, takes his son out of the back seat, and carries him inside, this ad says: "Chevy Silverado: Because the things you carry are heavier than the things you haul."

Um, are they saying they understand that we all have enormously obese children now, and they've got us covered for this problem? Because it kind of sounds like that's what they're implying. After all, they do say the kid is "heavier". So maybe they want us to know they have strengthened the truck and the engine and drivetrain to compensate for how colossal and corpulent American children have become, but they don't want to have to come out and say: "Chevy Silverado: Now strong enough to carry your enormously fat kids as well as whatever you haul! We know the last batch of trucks we made were strong enough for the load-hauling business, but we just didn't anticipate how plus-sized your children had become. Sorry about that. But we've fixed it now, we swear! But seriously: how could we have guessed how ridiculously gigantic and heavy they would be nowadays? How could anyone have known that they would be literally heavier than the loads you haul? Jeez!"

Here's the heavy spot:

(BTW: This ad reminds me of when girlfriends ask a question, and somehow, no matter what the answer is, the response back is: "So, are you saying I'm fat?" I'll bet all the ladies out there who say stuff like that will immediately read this Chevy commercial as I have!)
