The latest TV spot for the Burger King Whopper Junior has
the employees of a Burger King all, um, I guess you’d call it “dancing” (?)
around in the restaurant. Now, I’m sorry to have to be the one to say this, but
this is exactly the kind of racially insensitive depictions that we don’t need on television! This simply prolongs hurtful
stereotypes of white people not being able to dance, and it’s just mean. As it
happens, a few white people can kind of dance in a relatively acceptable
manner, so it’s not like none of
them can dance at all. But that’s
exactly the impression you’d get from watching this TV commercial, that white
people are all dancing-challenged.
It’s simply unacceptable! Burger King: oh, for shame, making fun of a group of
people with a disability like this! (I’m telling the Burger King about this,
and you’re going to get one Whopper of a spanking, advertising dept!)
