We all know the Audi ad where the high school boy goes to the prom, kisses the Prom Queen, gets punched in the face by the Prom King, and then drives home with a black eye in (presumably) his parents’ Audi. Well wouldn’t it be fun to have a Mercedes ad that turns this idea around and claims to show the “true story of what really happened”? Here’s how it might work:
The high school kid drives up in his Audi to the school gymnasium for the prom, and he walks in to kiss the Prom Queen. Well, she sees this coming and slaps his face and knees him in the crotch, and then the Prom King beats him up. Then we see the kid being taken away to the hospital in an ambulance, the Audi being towed away by a tow truck, and the Prom King and Queen leave together in the Prom King’s Mercedes E-Class. And then the tagline could read: “The bravery of an Audi will never beat the class, good judgment and desirability of a Mercedes.”
