Last night on the news, I saw coverage of this accused
cannibal cop in New York who got convicted for planning to abduct, kill, and
cannibalize women. And right after this report, the show went to a commercial,
and it was a commercial for El Pollo Loco. And at the end of the commercial,
like with all the El Pollo Loco ads, the tagline said: “Crazy you can taste!”
And I thought to myself: “Crazy you can taste? That sounds like that cannibal
cop guy!” And then I thought: “Hey, the restaurant is called ‘El Pollo Loco’,
and they serve chicken (!), so then the crazy chicken must be a cannibal (since
it cooks other chickens)!” So that made me think that perhaps El Pollo Loco
could create a crazy chicken mascot character for their ads.
So here’s what this mascot would be like: It would be a
chicken, but it would be crazy with wild eyes, and it would carry two big
slasher-style kitchen carving knives around, one in each, um, wing, I guess?
And then it would chase, catch, kill, filet, cook, etc., these chickens. And if
it was done in claymation, it would have a suitably silly feel. So essentially the
commercial would look like the movie Chicken Run, but it would play out more like a slasher horror movie than like a
prison camp escape movie. (Maybe it could be called “The Psycho Chicken”?) And then the El Pollo Loco tagline:
“Crazy you can taste”, would really
make sense.
Or would this work better for a new restaurant created to
compete with El Pollo Loco, called: “El Pollo Psycho”?
