CNN has advertised that they will be talking with Ted Turner
about his new project, which they claim is to “save the world”. Well, I thought
it might be more fun if he came on with some video feed, dressed in a Grand
Moff Tarkin (from Star Wars, for
non-nerds) uniform, and say: “I tried to save the Earth, with Captain Planet
and my green initiatives, but you wouldn’t let me. But now I’ve built a Death
Star, and if I can’t save the Earth, then I will destroy it! Mwa ha ha!” And
then he cuts off the communiqué and powers up his Destructo Ray to destroy the
Earth (!).
Now come on, seriously: wouldn’t that be more entertaining? (And, it might encourage/threaten people into supporting more green initiatives.)
