Chevy Camaro Intimidated Car Ad (Proposed)

In this proposed ad for the new Chevy Camaro, we’d see some nice normal couple driving a normal sedan, like a Toyota Camry, and they’d drive up to a red light and stop. Then, a new Chevy Camaro would drive up next to them at the stoplight, and the couple would look over and be impressed but also intimidated by the bitchin’ Camaro. And just before the light changed to green, the normal sedan would stall out, and the Camaro would then peel out and leave them in the dust at the light, leaving the normal couple bewildered like their car. (It would be the automotive equivalent to a nerd dropping his books next to a hot girl.)

(This ad would work really well with any hard rock music, like AC/DC, blasting forth from the Camaro, but it would work the best if the fast part of the song: “Bitchin’ Camaro” by the Dead Milkmen played at the end of the spot over the MPG ratings and APR stuff.)

Here’s the song: “Bitchin’ Camaro” by The Dead Milkmen (The good part starts at 2:05, and sorry about their Doors joke near the beginning, as this was from the ‘80s, and lots of people did that kind of stuff pretty openly back then.):

(Isn’t it great when major corporations can use songs about them originally intended to be ironic for their ads later? Extra irony! And even more irony when a punk band can earn big royalties from an ad for a product they made fun of in a song! Ain’t life grand?)

The lyrics about doing donuts on your lawn, and how all the other kids spit and cuss because he’s got a bitchin’ Camaro and they have to ride the bus would be so perfect for an envy-themed ad like the one I’m presenting above. (And obviously they would have to edit the song somewhat for lyrical content.)

Also, an ad like this could feature this song up front, having an artsy couple in a subcompact car waiting at a red light while listening to the fast part of “Bitchin’ Camaro”, and then a real new Camaro (with tinted windows) drives up next to them, almost like it was summoned, and the couple look over nervously, and the Camaro dusts them at the green light.)
