We all get to see the hopefuls and the assumed victors, but
there are some Olympic athletes nobody seems to think can win, ad then they do.
Maybe not the gold medal, but they get a
medal.
So how about an ad featuring the athletes nobody expected to
win smiling and facing interviews after wins, and they say what they say (for
example, an interviewer asked Yevgeny Pleshenko what he had to say to people
who said he couldn’t possibly win, and he said: “Thank you. Thank you. I love
it.” And everybody always disses on Julia Mancuso, and then she wins medals
each time, with an announcer saying today: “Nobody expected this!”), and then
whatever sports company says: “When everybody says you can’t win, it’s twice as sweet when you do.”
