Yes, it’s true: Hefty has a brand of garbage bags called “Hefty Blackout Bags”, and they use the slogan: “Keep Your Garbage in the Dark” for them (!). I just saw an ad for them today.
So, then, I guess this is for people who drink until they have blackouts, and when they’re out, they commit the most horrible, heinous crimes, and they want to be able to get rid of the evidence so they’ll never see it again or even realize what they’ve done once they sober up, right? And they obviously do such horrific stuff, they don’t even want their garbage to know what it was! That’s why they use the slogan: “Keep Your Garbage in the Dark”! (After all, the FBI looks through suspects’ garbage, right? So is it really that much of a stretch to think they’d start grilling garbage to find out what it knows about stuff? Then it might rat them out! So better to “keep it in the dark” about their activities!) So for these people, I guess it’s the perfect garbage bag! And if there are enough of these people out there, then Hefty will be very successful! (Unless one of these guys massacres everyone at the Hefty factory during a blackout, I guess. But never fear: they could dispose of all the evidence in these great new Hefty garbage bags! So no worries there.)
