The Women’s World Cup final is today, and they had a large banner, as they usually do at international soccer matches, that says: “Say No To Racism” on it. But isn’t it about time they had an actual television commercial to go with this anti-racism campaign? I think so! So how about this for a “Say No To Racism” ad:
Some young white kid is walking home from school, and as he walks home, he passes a bad part of town, where a bunch of guys in Ku Klux Klan robes and hoods is hanging out, smoking cigarettes. So as the kid walks by, one of the Klan guys offers the kid a white pointy Klan hood, and says: “Hey man, you want some racism?” And the kid says: “No, thanks. I’m okay.” So the Klansman says: “C’mon, man: it’s really great!” And the kid says: “No, I’m good.” So then the Klan guy says: “Alright, but you’re missing out!” But the kid says: “No, I’m really not. But you guys are!” And then the kid continues on down the street, leaving the Klan guys behind. Then the kid walks up to a house and opens the door, to be welcomed by his African-American sister.
Then the announcer says: “America wouldn’t be the great country it is without every ethnic group, and everything they bring to our nation. Say “No” to racism: America wouldn’t be America without us all, equally, with liberty and justice for all!”
