Invisalign seems like the way to go if you’re going to get braces these days, and just to prove it to us, they have this pair of teenage twins comparing the differences between the old style of braces, and the new Invisalign system. But when I watch this commercial, I just feel sorry for the girl with the old-fashioned braces. Her sister is being a total brat about it, basically going: “Nyah, nyah, ny’nyah nyah!” to her sister about all the limitations and hassle the old braces come with, rubbing it in that she doesn’t have those issues. So at the end of the ad, I wish they would say: “Well, for agreeing to wear the crappy old braces, you’re going to be paid ten times as much money!” And then she could get to gloat back for a change.
Oh, and at the end of the ad, the girl who got the Invisalign braces holds up a sign that says: “Thanks, Mom!” So I guess Mom likes one of her daughters a lot better than the other. So perhaps the one with the old kind of braces should hold up a sign that says: “Screw you, Mom! I’m going to live with Dad!”
Here’s the ad. See if you don’t sense a superior, teasing attitude from the Invisalign girl. And who knows, maybe that type of snooty, self-aggrandizing attitude comes free with every set of Invisalign braces! Yay, Invisalign: adding arrogance and alignment for the kids of today!:
