This ad says: “Somewhere in America, there’s a doctor who can peer into the future.” And then it says some other stuff. But right after that first line of dialog, I couldn’t think of anything else except for the fact that if it were true that a doctor could see into the future, some silly conservative politician would try to make it illegal, saying it’s unethical, or that it’s against God and the Bible, or whatever retarded* argument he’d use to oppose its use, like with stem cell research. Then we’d all have to listen to these insufferable jerks claim night-after-night on the news that Jesus “told them” it’s against God’s law and to stop all the Godless heathens before the apocalypse gets triggered in retaliation! And after having to listen to their stupid crap for a while, we might begin to prefer the apocalypse after all!
Oh, and now that I’ve seen this ad again from looking for it on YouTube, it strikes me that the next line of dialog says: “There’s a nurse who can access in an instant, every patient’s past.” So, this is going to open everyone up for blackmail, then, right? Nurses get paid not the best wages for all the work they do (it’s more of a lifestyle than a career, from what I understand), and based upon the stuff we saw happening here in Hollywood with people selling medical records to tabloids and such, this is going to open up a whole other can-of-worms if everybody in the hospital can look into everybody’s past whenever they feel like it. Some crooked nurse might sell somebody out or blackmail them, or some lonely nurse might get victimized by some tabloid reporter pretending to love them, or someone dressed-up as a nurse could steal all the files they wanted to, or else some kid may simply hack into the system and reveal everything about everyone who is anyone to everybody on the internet. Sound good now?
Yay, progress!
So here is this commercial:
