In this commercial for AT&T, a man in a suit asks a table of elementary school kids: “What’s better: doing two things at once, or just one?” And the kids all yell out: “Two!” So I guess this is AT&T’s way of trying to indoctrinate our children into always doing two things at once. Like texting and driving, for instance? And maybe like drinking and driving?
I knew it!
Yes, these cute little ads are trying to make everyone text and drive. (You know it’s true!) And guess who they’re targeting here? Why, it’s the children of Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint customers, to get revenge for them not subscribing to AT&T! Because obviously these ads are not aimed at people who already use AT&T, right? (Those fiends!)
Quick: Stop these dangerous propagandists before it’s too late!
(BTW: This is just a joke, but it might be helpful for them to quickly say at the end of the spot that sometimes doing two things is not better than one: like when you’re driving. {I can hear some of you saying that kids don’t drive. But they don’t buy cell phones either, so these ads are not aimed at elementary school children, now are they?})
Here’s the double-doing dizzy dude ad:
(Also, does anyone remember the ad AT&T was running before this spot? It was the same idea, with school kids at the table talking to the guy, but when asked about whether doing two things is better than one, the kids were talking about shooting someone with one laser beam out of your eye versus shooting them with both of your eyes. So at least they aren’t trying to get kids to disintegrate each other with lethal laser beams anymore.)
