The Jaguar Super Bowl "it's good to be bad" ad made me think of something. The last time I saw Glenn Danzig around town, he was driving a black Jaguar. And whereas the guys in that Super Bowl ad are actors who play characters, Glenn Danzig seems more like the real deal. (He's actually quite nice, and I suppose he's playing a character too, but he's been doing it a lot longer.) And people who have been fans of his for a while are likely just about at the age where they're going to be in the market for a Jaguar. So I'd think that if Jaguar would like to get a niche market in Misfits and Danzig fans, they ought to make one of these "it's good to be bad" ads with Glenn Danzig. And it would be easy to do, too: I imagine he'd be happy to do an ad for Jaguar, seeing as how he obviously likes their cars, and the ad could be like a music video of a Danzig song, like: "Am I Demon", or: "Under Her Black Wings", and we could see him performing, signing autographs, and getting into his Jaguar to drive away, and as he gets in he says: "It's good to be bad."
Also, it would make a good campaign to have Kirk Hammett from Metallica, Kerry King from Slayer, Tony Iommi from Black Sabbath, etc., each make an ad like this for Jaguar, or maybe put them all in one big ad, like they did with the Super Bowl commercial. All the big dark, hard-edged bands everyone knows and loves. I'm not sure if these guys drive Jaguars, but the fact is, most commercial spokespeople don't necessarily use the products they endorse. (I think they're supposed to use them, but that doesn't always mean they do.)
