We all know about the chemical spill in West Virginia and how it made the water unsafe to drink. Well, this happens from time to time, and it seems like a good marketing opportunity for a beverage company, don't you think? (Just kidding.) So here's a (joke) commercial for a soda based on contaminated water:
We see images of polluted water, and snippets of news stories talking about a chemical spill making water unsafe to drink, and the announcer chimes in saying: "Chemical spills contaminating our water supply are an unfortunate risk in contemporary life; but while it is a hardship, look on the bright side: There's never been a better time to enjoy the refreshing taste of (whatever soda brand)! Yes, our product may not be all that healthy, but it's a lot healthier than a chemical spill!"
Wouldn't that show everyone that it's possible to see the glass as half full with something other than contaminated water in such situations?
(If a company made an ad like this, they would never hear the end of it.)
