At the opening of the Super Bowl Pre-Game Show on Fox today, there was an ad with the lead characters of numerous Broadway musicals in costume singing: "The Super Bowl's like Broadway," and illustrating some comparisons to show how much the Super Bowl is like Broadway. But I thought of a few comparisons they missed, or at least failed to mention: It's overhyped, ridiculously overpriced, sometimes it's a flop, and it's a crushing disappointment to half the audience followed by an unbelievable traffic jam.
(Actually, that crushing disappointment to half the audience is only a certainty in sports, where one team loses and all their fans go home unhappy.)
Oh, and parking is a nightmare. But that's true of everything in and around New York City.
