Royal Heirloom Ring Ad

They are still running this ad weeks and weeks after the “Royal Wedding” and its associated fever of media mania ended, so their offices must be positively lousy with these “Royal Heirloom” rings that nobody wanted! Even at the low, low price of $19.90, they still couldn’t give them away! But they’re made of “beautiful” silver plate! They couldn’t even afford to use silver, or just to use stainless steel or pewter? What a piece of crap! It’s probably made of poisonous lead with tin-foil plate! Oh, but it comes in its own hinged decorative box! And how could they possibly make such a piece of crap ring and decorative jewel box so cheaply unless they used abducted child slave labor? Seriously! And who wants to support that?

Well, I hope they at least ship it carefully to those they trick into wasting their money on it, because those “simulated diamonds” look like they could easily chip or break, seeing as how they’re obviously glass! I wonder if they’re actually cut to look like diamonds, or do they just drop a glass on the floor and glue the broken shards to the ring? Even if it won’t cut glass like a diamond, I’ll bet it will cut human flesh easily enough, so be careful if you get one! Otherwise, it might be your last cheapo piece-of-crap “not available in stores” ordered-off-of-television trinket!

Here is this silly ad (Oh, but it’s only for a limited time, so you better hurry! {Yeah, right!}):

The funniest thing to me about this commercial and this whole enterprise is that it purports to be from some official-sounding British group: “The British Historic Society”. So some official English historical society would really smear the royals and the memory of the late Princess Diana with some cheap-ass knock-off of her engagement ring? Really? I doubt it! Or perhaps it’s a veiled political statement by some anti-monarchy group, associating the royals with some cheap, underhanded enterprise, and it’s not even about selling rings at all! Could it be possible? I’ve heard of weirder things happening!
