I have heard it over and over again this past week from a large variety of past and present intelligence and political analysts from both sides of the aisle that the money we’re giving to Pakistan ostensibly for their help in the War on Terror(ism) is going directly into funding their nuclear weapons program. Supposedly, Pakistan has developed over one hundred nuclear bombs already, and they’re well on their way to producing a hundred more. Is this really the best plan? I mean, America is basically paying for a nuclear arms race between India and Pakistan, and in order to try to win some shaky security for ourselves, we’re putting a billion Indians’ lives in nuclear-apocalyptic jeopardy. This seems like a really bad idea! Unless…
There’s an angle to this whole situation I haven’t quite considered. Some people, especially liberals and Democrats, say that they place their trust entirely in President Obama, and that if he does something they don’t agree with, they’re just going to trust him over themselves. There’s an interesting editorial by Ted Rall that recounts an article in Mother Jones about just this very topic. (I’ll include the link below. The part I’m talking about is near the bottom of the article.) In any case, maybe they’re right. Helping Pakistan annihilate India may not seem like something that’s in our national interest, but then again, maybe Obama has decided it is. You see, we’ve got a lot of unemployment here in the United States right now, and if Pakistan wiped India off the map in a nuclear holocaust, think of how many American jobs that might create! Of course, I’m referring to all of our outsourced jobs; once India is vaporized, surely these jobs will come back home to America and get the president re-elected, right? I mean, they wouldn’t all go to Iran or anything, would they? Of course not! Obama has always known just how to deal with Iran in such a way as to give America the upper hand! And when he lets Iran get away with all kinds of stuff, and he helps Pakistan build up a nuclear arsenal, I’m sure he knows just what he’s doing! I’ll bet he’s thought it all out, and when Pakistan nukes India, and India retaliates, probably Obama has figured out that all of the fallout will drift over Iran and destroy them completely! And it will look like it was Pakistan’s fault! (Don’t worry, nobody will ever remember that the US financed the Pakistani nuclear weapons program and blame us as a result! I mean, who could possibly remember something like that? It’s so insignificant!) Plus, the nuclear winter will solve global warming, and the surviving mutant Indians will just steal Chinese jobs and weaken China next. See? I told you: Obama has thought all this stuff out, and he knows way better than all of you!
