According to the news, the head of the IMF was arrested for (allegedly) sexually assaulting a maid in a New York City Hotel. He’s from France, so it’s actually not all that surprising, since Pepe LePew is also from there, and I think his example is what they all aspire to. What is surprising is that he’s actually a presidential candidate there, and the news said that he was favored to win the next election. This type of behavior might actually help him to win an election in France, but he’s going to have to get there first. Authorities yanked him off of an Air France plane just as he was about to fly away like a little alleged rapey bird.
I always thought IMF was an acronym for “International Monetary Fund”, but maybe it’s really secretly the “International Molestation Fanclub”, or perhaps even the “Immoral Men’s Foundation”. Or could it be the “Intrepid Molesters Firm”? I just don’t know what to believe anymore. It just seems like when people become really powerful, and there’s no accountability for anything they do, they start acting all allegedly corrupt and power crazy. It’s even allegedly happened to allegedly lots of alleged congressmen allegedly here in the alleged United States!
But you know, this guy is a presidential candidate in France, and as such, this whole thing has political implications. How can we be sure that this isn’t some sort of political dirty trick from one of his opponents? I mean, how do we know that the assailant wasn’t actually somebody else wearing a really convincing Dominique Strauss-Kahn costume? I heard that was one of the most popular Halloween costumes last year, so it almost could have been anyone. (BTW: I just heard on the news that the French press are suggesting just that possibility! Well, that it may be political intrigue, not that somebody wore a Dominique Strauss-Kahn costume. But with all the fear over economic issues, plus this alleged sexual assault, it might be an even more popular Halloween costume this year than it was last year!)
