Rapunzel’s Revenge

This past weekend, my niece had a birthday party, and one of the gifts she received was a book called Rapunzel’s Revenge. Now, I haven’t read the book, so I don’t know, but the image that I got in my mind from that title was of Rapunzel dropping her hair out of her tower and hanging or strangling passersby to death with it tied into a noose or something. It is also possible, of course, that she will escape from her tower and come looking for all the princes who failed to rescue her, and/or maybe the enchantress who put her there in that tower to begin with, as well as her parents who willingly abandoned her to such a punishment. She’d go running around, with razor-sharp knife-blades hidden throughout her long locks of flowing hair, throwing or twirling it around and decapitating people with it like some kind of flying guillotine, or else throwing it like a lasso around people’s necks and then dragging them behind her galloping horse, or to make it even more exploitationy, her wheelie-popping chopper motorcycle! Now there’s a grim fairy tale!
