With the coming release of this new X-Men movie, something suggested itself to me. The transgender community is always being shown as victims of discrimination on cable news; there’s practically a new story every week. Hate crime laws are being put in place to protect them, but why not try a new approach?
Wouldn’t a new generation of Americans be programmed to be more accepting if they were brought up with a group of transgendered superheroes to admire? How about a group of former men, now ladies, superheroes called “The Ex-Men”? They’d be sure to develop a huge fan base, and they’d fight for acceptance, justice and equal protections for all Americans! Plus, as superheroes, they would be role models as well, and perhaps they could stamp out bigotry in the process! I’ll bet it would work!
