Yes, of course I’m talking about our cable news people. They’re doing all they can to rub it in about the US not trusting Pakistan, etc., in their reports on the death of Osama bin Laden. President Obama did the best he could to thank Pakistan, and other security officials have stressed the importance of the strategic relationship we have with Pakistan in successfully waging the War on Terror(ism: I’m sorry, but it should be called the “War on Terrorism”). But CNN et. al. simply can’t let it lie, can they? It seems they’ve always got to try to stir something up somewhere, because that’s big news! They simply must expose the lie somehow, and in the process, destroy our country’s strategic relationship with Pakistan, and whatever help it could be in the future. Great! Who needs national security when there’s a better story to tell?
It’s always preferable to get a hot story that endangers the country than to be an active partner in helping secure our country’s safety. I mean, why else would they always tell exactly how they caught each new terrorist, thus making sure we’ll never get another one the same way? Oh, and why else would they always tell how a failed terrorist attack could have worked better (if only they had done the following…)? And what about how they always like to report on what the most dangerous, unguarded, strategic terrorist targets would be here in our homeland? They’re obviously trying the help the terrorists kill us all!
I think the truth is that Wolf Blitzer is the true head of Al Qaida! Hey, he’s got a beard, right? What other proof do you need? That’s good enough for me…
