CA Lottery "Cornelius" Ad

Many people seem to love this cute spot for the California Lottery where some dude with a mutt dog becomes completely pretentious and arrogant after winning the scratch-off lottery. His clothes transform into frilly Victorian finery straight out of Around the World in 80 Days (especially appropriate since he takes off in a hot-air balloon at the end!), and his doggie is instantly wearing a suit and glasses, transforming from a "mutt" named Corny into Cornelius: a professorial thoroughbred with a brilliant mind. That's all great! But was it really necessary to blame long division on this defenseless animal? Surely this must be some twisted new kind of animal abuse! (I'm kidding: but the first thing I thought after seeing this ad for the first time was: "Wow! Finally a cute dog all children will hate!" But at least they didn't say he invented mathematics word problems, or worse, Trigonometry! Or how about the SATs?)
