Love: It's What Makes A Subaru A Subaru

This Subaru slogan is pretty funny for a car company, as it suggests so many different things. For one thing, it makes it sound like their cars a built by Care Bears or something, or by people with those animated hearts radiating off of them and then popping. Next, it kind of suggests that every other car company is an emotionless monolith of a company, building uncaring ambivalence into every automobile they make. And then there's this...

I would love to see an ad with this slogan where it's like an episode of the TV show Cops, where the officer the show is following says (in a Larry the Cable Guy accent): "Hey, you know that slogan: 'Love: It's what makes a Subaru a Subaru?' Well, it's true! We catch more teenagers, swingers, exhibitionists, frisky married couples, you name it, gettin' it on in Subarus than in any other car. Look, I'll show you." So they drive up to "Inspiration Point", and it's jam-packed with Subarus, all with some couple having sex in them. So the officer says: "See? What did I tell you? That's a felony right there. And from what I understand, they can't even help it; it's that car: it makes them do it! Every time I arrest someone in a Subaru for public sex in a car, they always say they weren't having sex, they were 'making love'. I guess that must be what makes a Subaru a Subaru."
