Guns in Schools?

The NRA has reportedly released a recommendation that teachers and school administrators carry guns in school. And I for one feel this is a sad day for America, where teachers have to threaten their students with firearms to get them to learn. But hey, if that’s what it takes to fix our schools and force kids to get a decent education, I guess it’s worth a try. Our kids are falling behind the rest of the world in science and math performance, so this is an issue of our nation’s future, and I guess we’ve got to do what we’ve got to do. If things have reached a point where we literally have to put a gun to our kids’ heads to make them study, what choice have we got? It seems a bit extreme, but maybe it will work, who knows? (I hope the guns don’t have to be loaded, though. But I guess if the students know they’re not loaded, it’s just an empty threat and they still won’t study or do their homework.)

Oh, sorry, this proposal says the guns are supposed to protect the students? Oh, well that’s different. Yeah, I don’t know if that’s such a good idea. Um, never mind…
